TARGET RESIDENTS

The village of Solund is the largest housing unit for adult citizens with significant and lasting reduced physical and mental disabilities in Denmark.

The target residents are characterized by having multiple diagnoses, complicated issues and/or reactions in the form of self-harming or externalizing behaviours.

All the residents have significant needs for support. The typical developmental age ranges from six monts to four years. At Solund, we hold a specific knowledge about residents with psychiatric issues. In addition, the village of Solund is a melting pot of knowledge on the areas of autism, deaf-blindness, sensory integration and dementia.

The village has its own offer of daily activities as well as the specially organized youth education (STU), which is a three year training program for young people with multiple disabilities and autism disorders.
